It’s not 987 pedestrians. I just used that as an example of the intuition. It’s 987 people in cars and on foot. (And maybe cyclists, etc.) And it’s people hit by Uber and Lyft drivers. That’s a very small number. It’s a measure of how many fatalities are caused by Uber and Lyft because the roads are just more crowded.
